You don’t need to watch the film to enjoy the talk, but why wouldn’t you want to see Maggie Smith, Lily Tomlin, Cher, and Judi Dench in Tuscany?! You can rent Tea with Mussolini through Amazon or your cable provider (since movie stores don’t exist anymore), and during the talk we’ll look at the sites where Franco Zeffirelli shot this autobiographical film. We’ll discuss Italy during WWII and discover more of the history of Florence (including the orphanage that was in use from the 15th to 20th centuries) and San Gimignano (two of the film’s heroines saved the towers and its most famous frescoes!).
