I’ve been working with Rick Steves since 2015, and yes, he’s just as amazing in person as he is on his TV shows! Each year I head to RSE HQ in Edmonds, WA, to talk about all things tour-related and occasionally to have a chat on the radio about our favourite Italian customs and places. Below are links to the radio programs we’ve done together on “Travel with Rick Steves” (I come in at the top of the hour or at the minute mark listed):

Publications

OK, so I don’t have many (in a former life I gave more conference presentations), but perhaps the one I am most proud of is an article I wrote (in italiano!) for the June 2011 Romolo & Remo, the Contrada della Lupa’s magazine (download PDF here: “Diario di un’americana”).
My picture is also in Mauro Civai and Enrico Toti’s Palio: la corsa dell’anima (Colle di Val d’Elsa: Salvietti & Barabuffi, 2013) on page 102 (surely that must count for something!).

"The Palio of Siena: A Journey through Time", in Artistic Responses to Travel in the Western Tradition, pp. 86-107, ed. by Sarah J. Lippert (London: Routledge, 2018)

Sometimes people write about me, oddly enough…grazie, Andrea!
And grazie for the interview, Rick Steves!
