It’s no joke, today is Easter Monday and most Italians will be out to lunch with friends! Of course, because this is a spring holiday where we like to be outside, the day is often unluckily filled with rain (so if the sun is out, rejoice!).
Today also happens to be what we Anglophones call April Fools’ Day, but in Italy it’s known as the Pesce d’aprile (April’s fish). I don’t know its exact origin, but in English when someone is fooled we do say they fell for it “hook, line, and sinker”, so perhaps there’s a connection!
