The name says it all! Colle (hill) Val (valley) d’Elsa (of the Elsa River). Come with us for a stroll through Colle Alta, the highest and oldest part of town, at 12pm EST/9am PST (18.00 Italy time). Known as “the Crystal City”, it also used the waters from the Elsa River to produce paper. Thanks to its location near the Via Francigena, it boasts quite an important relic, one of the nails used for Christ’s crucifixion. It was also the hometown of the peninsula’s finest architects; although he died around 1300/1310, we’re quite sure you’ve heard of at least one of his works!
Time: 12pm EST, 9am PST (6pm Italy time)
