Anna & Ambra Live!

“Contrada” is translated most frequently as “district”, but perhaps an even better word would be “city-state”. There are 17 Contrade within the city walls of Siena, each with its own elected board of officials and constitution. Whilst they all share the history of Siena, each is marvellously distinct. Today we’ll visit Ambra’s stomping grounds in the Contrada Capitana dell’Onda (the Captain Contrada of the Wave) and take you into their museum to learn about the history of the Palio and other Contrada traditions.

Time: 12pm EST, 9am PST (6pm Italy time)

To watch: “Like” my facebook page here to watch the free livestream (follow Ambra on facebook here).

We will be making a donation to the Onda Museum for allowing us to visit, so if you’d like to contribute to the Contrada and/or support your virtual guides, you may do so here:
